We Understand

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. We do understand that this will be a long process of earning Ethan's trust and respect as parents. We just wanted everyone to know that we know its not all peaches and cream!

Everyone asks why the ten days. It is a replacement for the previous 30-day waiting that was frequently waived by judges who were paid a sufficient amount of US$$$$$. Now, there is no choice, it is 10 days with no opportunity to waive the time. The time period is to allow for anyone to appeal the court's decision granting us the adoption. The curious thing is that the decree from the court is not published anywhere, we wonder how anyone could even find out that there was an adoption of an orphan child let alone who specifically it is. Anyway, we cannot take Ethan until the judge actually puts that piece of paper in our hand.

We did get permission to take Ehtan on a walk outside of the orphanage today. He was scared but Natasha told him that if he held his Daddy's hand that everything would be OK, his Daddy would keep him safe. After that, he didn't want to hold Steph's hand, just mine :)

OK, gotta go its after 4:00 and Ethan is waiting on us.

Hey you two!

What a wonderful day that will be when you get the "Official" paperwork in your hand and the final arrangements made to be able to come home as a family! I can't wait! We are so looking forward to meeting Ethan and spending time with you guys. Logan is helping me type this - he says "Hi Uncle Joe and Aunt Stephanie - please hurry home so I can play with Ethan at Christmas!"
We love you guys and are praying for you. Have you shown Ethan a picture of Bernie and Dixie yet? He's gonna have some fun with them for sure!
Logan went to visit Santa on Saturday. He just looked at us like "hurry up and take the picture already..." The next kid was a teenager and he asked for a Wii... Santa had no clue, we think he thought he said "weed". Too funny - Santa better brush up on the newest and greatest gifts, huh?

See you soon!!!

Boy do we miss you!! We were talking the other day and realized that we haven't seen you for 2WEEKS! We are trying to be big kids about this but we can't wait for the Friday when all 7 of us get into the Envoy to go out for dinner. We are so happy for you that we just want to tell eveyone we see the exciting news.

We have no doubt that you will be great parents and that you know parenting can be a challenge. You have been around us long enough to know just what kind of challenges you may face in the future but with those challenges comes great happiness and laughter. You will learn as you go just like the rest of us did.

The best gift for all of us is to see you 3 home for christmas safely. We love and miss you!!
